Songwriting duo from the north of England, Penny Whispers pair powerful and catchy hooks with emotive and striking harmonies. Blending styles from Pop, Rock & Folk, their music and lyrics hit hard with strong musical progressions and deep lyrical meaning.
They cut their teeth on the northern pub circuit, making their debut 2020 performance at The Hard Rock Cafe in Manchester. Since releasing their first single ‘Stay a While’ in April this year, the track has received support from Jericho keys at BBC introducing Radio York, along with regional radio play. Drawing influences from a seesaw of artists from Celine Dion to the Killers, their music is first and foremost “Pop Fusion”. Traditional writing styles & and theatrical flair join with contemporary sounds & unique voices to create a new sound very much needed in these dark times.
In the years running up to recording their latest single, the two have shared the stage with some big names, supporting Jessie J, Toploader, E17 & playing festivals alongside Ella Henderson & The Kaiser Chiefs.
Currently battling the economic circumstances along with countless other gigging musicians, Penny Whispers are taking this time to check back in with creativity, writing new songs to lift spirits during this difficult year.
lyrics
We’ve got, to get through this together in our minds Open our eyes together and we will be strong
Like a wave like a wave that can shield the heat Like a tide that divides us before we meet Waiting for love to finally linger
waiting for blood to lead us into
Days come undone, won’t save tomorrow
(like a wave, like a wave it’s the way we will save, our lives unsung won’t save our sorrow
(like a wave, like a wave it’s the way we will save,
It’s not, a wound that can be seen with only sight Open our minds together and we will be strong
(like a wave, like a wave it’s the way we will save,
Waiting for love to finally linger waiting for blood to lead us into Waiting for love to lead us into
Days come undone, won’t save tomorrow
(like a wave, like a wave it’s the way we will save, our lives unsung won’t save our sorrow
(like a wave, like a wave it’s the way we will save,
Days come undone, won’t save tomorrow
(like a wave, like a wave it’s the way we will save, our lives unsung won’t save tomorrow
(like a wave, like a wave it’s the way we will save,
