The track features Luke Barker on lead vocal, guitars and drums, Matt Turnell on bass guitar and backing vocals and special guest Mark Hewitt on electric guitar. The track was lovingly recorded and mixed by Chris Jones at Beck View Studio.
The song was inspired by the fear, trepidation and disruption to everyday life caused by the Covid 19 pandemic, and the need to look for hope and find strength in love to endure the dark times that we are going through.
lyrics
You can’t hide from the feelings that you hold inside and you can’t seem to wake up from this bad dream.
When all the things that you once took for granted, everything on which you depend,
Suddenly all gone away leaving you stranded, waiting for this nightmare to end.
Will things be the same again?
We’re in some dark times but we’ll make it to the dawn and then the soft light will come creeping,
slowly warming up the cold night air, a bright new morning will arrive.
I can’t sleep on this bed of nails anxiety. Can’t believe what I’m seeing right in front of me.
Storms will pass and this won’t last forever, hold on tight for a brighter day.
We can do this, get through this together, ‘till then we’ll just hope and pray.
One day we’ll look back and say:
Been through some dark times but we made it to the dawn and then the soft light came creeping,
slowly warming up the cold night air, a bright new morning will arrive.
Oh we’re in dark times but well make it to the dawn and then the soft light will come creeping,
slowly warming up the cold night air, a bright new morning will arrive, arrive.
And in our darkest hour, when we were torn apart the distance only drew us closer in our loving hearts.
The greatest lesson learned, about what matters most and all the love that burned inside us gave us hope.
We’re in some dark times but we’ll make it to the morning.
